This Tutorial is based upon windows XP. I do not have Vista so can not offer any advise on that.
Downloading and installing teakspeak2. D/L teamspeak2 here and install where ever you like. Open TS2 by double clicking the program's icon. Once this opens you will see the TS2 box, in the upper left corner you will see "Connection". Click "Connection" then in the new box that comes up, click "Connect". In this new box you have 1 option. all it says is "servers" right click Servers and choose add server. name this whatever you like as it pertains only to you and hit enter. Now you have several things to fill out. you only have to do this once, as it saves your info for future use. Label. Name anything you want, only you can see this. Server Address. the IP# we give you when you are allowed to sign on TS2 nickname. your in game name or the name that everyone on TS2 will know you by. put a check in "Registered" Login Name: should be the same as your nick name. the name everyone on TS2 will know you by. Password: The password you told the leader you contacted about joining TS2. Click "connect" at the bottom and your in TS2. Setting up your microphone and sound properties. 1st thing you want to do here is go to your sound properties window. you can do this by going to control panel/ sounds and audio devices/advanced. here you should see the box labeled "play Control" this has a lot of slide bars that you can adjust. the most Important 1 here to mess with is "Microphone" if you do not have this listed here then go to options/properties and make sure playback is selected, in the list at the bottom, put a check in Microphone and hit OK. Now you are back to play control with all the sliders and now microphone is in the list. under Microphone there is a box to mute it. do it!! make sure mic. is muted in play control. if it is not muted 90% of the time you have so much back ground noise coming thru your microphone that you can't hear but everyone on TS2 does hear that and most likely people will mute you in TS2 so they don't have to hear that. Now go back to Options/properties put a check in Recording and hit OK. You are now in record control, with sliders as before. This is where you adjust the strength of your microphone. also if applicable put a check in select under microphone. and hit advanced. if your mic is not loud enough even tho you have the slider at max, put a check in microphone boost. hit OK and now your set up right to use TS2. If you still can not get the mic to work. here's how you check the mic to make sure it is attached correctly and where the problem lies. go to control panel/Sounds and Audio devices/ voice tab/ test hardware. if during the test you still can't hear anything from your mic, then the problem is either mic is not plugged in correctly, Mic is no good. or something in your PC isn't working. this part has nothing to do with TS2. As long as you follow this guide you should not have any problems using TS2. |
